Role Overview:

As an Engineer in Software & Application Development at Tata Communications, you will be responsible for the development, testing, deployment, and debugging of software applications. This role requires strong programming skills and familiarity with software tools and environments. You will be working in an operational role where you may seek guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Coding and Testing: Write effective and scalable code, create test cases, and conduct development testing. Report any testing issues to your supervisor.

·         Debugging and Deployment: Debug and deploy applications while providing ongoing support for the production environment.

·         Software Development Calendar: Prepare and manage the software development calendar, ensuring timelines are met.

·         Reporting and Dashboards: Prepare reports and dashboards on project time deviations, rework time, and other relevant metrics.

·         Bug Tracking: Identify, track, and assess the nature of bugs, and execute corrective actions to ensure smooth project progress.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

    To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:

·         Programming Skills: Strong programming abilities, particularly in Java and core Java.

·         Familiarity with Tools: Knowledge of software applications and tools relevant to software development, testing, and debugging.

·         Understanding of SDLC: A good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and requirements management.

·         Analytical Skills: Ability to identify bugs, analyze their nature, and implement corrective actions.

·         Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
